ROLF FRØYLAND (born 1926 in Sandnes, Norway, died 2022 in Sandnes, Norway) went to secondary school at Hana for a few months. His talent for drawing was discovered early on, and he started as a decorator at Ganns Potteri og Teglverk when he was about 14 years old. He attended Søiland's art school in Stavanger at the same time as he worked at Gann's pottery until 1945.

Rolf Frøyland was employed as a decorator at Figgjo Krafselskap AS in 1945, became chairman of the decor department a few years later and eventually got a position as a designer at Figgjo where he worked for almost 40 years. Over the years, he designed a great number of decors by the name of Dekor Rolf, such as Rondo, Ruth, Valencia, Safran, June, Bekkeblom, Dovre and Vinje
