PETER WINQUIST (born 1941 in Tenhola, Finland) graduated as an industrial designer from the University of Art and Design of Gothenburg, Sweden, and worked at the Rörstrand factories in Lidköping. He was a designer at Arabia from his graduation in 1967 until 1974, first in the Industrial Design Department and later in the Product Design Department.
Winquist designed one of Arabia's best-known tableware services of all time, the EH design, also known as the Faenza service. It was awarded a prize in the international Faenza art ceramics competition. The EH service contained functional and practical solutions typical of the period, such as rounded rims curving out, light construction, drip grooves, and carefully dimensioned stackability. He also designed a children's service produced by Arabia.
