WHO IS NORDEN DESIGN?
In 2015, I started Norden design, an online shop that originated from a passion for Scandinavia and Scandinavian design. Together with Edwin, I have been spending all of my holidays in the North for the past twenty years, looking everywhere to find the greatest items. My love for crockery has existed ever since I purchased my first Villeroy & Boch set in a charity shop when I was in my teens. Now many years later, I am particularly interested in the services designed and manufactured in Scandinavia since the fifties. Because I am pretty sure that I am not the only china lover out there, I hope to share all those fine things with you through this online shop.

VINTAGE DESIGN TABLEWARE FROM SCANDINAVIA
In this online shop you will find a selection of vintage design tableware made by Arabia, Gustavsberg, Rörstrand, Stavangerflint, Figgjo Flint and various smaller earthenware factories in Finland, Sweden, Denmark and Norway about 35 to 65 years ago. Unique items that have been designed by well-known artists from the 50s to 80s, such as Kaj Franck, Stig Lindberg, Marianne Westman, Inger Waage and many other leading designers in those days from the Nordic countries – Denmark, Norway, Sweden, Finland and Iceland – or 'Norden' as the Danes, Swedes and Norwegians say, hence our name.
SELECTION
Norden design's selection changes continually. Most articles are unique specimens that are hard to find nowadays. When an article has been sold, and we haven't got a spare one by coincidence, it will be out of stock until we have been able to retrieve another specimen. On the other hand, our selection will be supplemented with other items on a regular basis. Every now and then we set out for Scandinavia in order to purchase exceptional products. Subsequently, these items will be displayed in our online shop. Since our tableware is second-hand, we are not liable to add VAT to our selling prices.
ALMEDAHLS
On our ALMEDAHLS page you will find a selection of table cloths, napkins and tea towels from the Swedish designer label of the same name, printed with gorgeous designs of Marianne Westman, Marianne Nilsson en Studio Almedahls. The material is a mixture of linen (55%) and cotton (45%) which allows it to dry faster and absorp more fluid than textiles made of 100% cotton.
